The kid's room was the only place in the whole castle that felt warm.
I sat in the large wooden rocking chair, holding a small toy wolf in my hands. My heart felt like a heavy.
The image of the Council Room was still flashing in my eyes. I could still see the exact moment the light died in Theo’s eyes.
l felt sad and guilty.
"Mommy, look. My tower is taller than the mountain"
Leo’s loud, happy voice broke through my thoughts. He was kneeling on the rug, stacking red and blue blocks as fast as his little hands could move.
Right next to him, Lilian was sitting quietly, brushing the hair of her doll. They were so happy.
They had absolutely no idea about the choices that made in the council room. They didn't know their world was changing.
