His mother walked back into the room, carrying a tray with four mugs of tea. She set it down on the table and sat back in her chair, wiping a tear from her eye.
"We're so sorry, Theo," his mother cried softly. "We just want you to forgive us. We want to be a family again."
I stared at them in absolute shock.
They were singing a different tune. The proud, evil leaders who had made my life a living nightmare were sitting in front of me, crying and begging for forgiveness. It felt like I was in a completely different universe.
"Your apologies are heard" Theo said keeping his arm tightly around me. "But forgiveness takes a very long time. We didn't come here to talk about us. We came here to talk about Selena."
His father nodded slowly. " What do you need to talk about?"
