I sat on the edge of the examination table in the pack hospital as Dr. Marcus, our oldest and most trusted pack doctor, gently pulled the small needle out of my arm.
He pressed a white cotton ball against my skin to stop the bleeding.
"There you go, Alpha," Dr. Marcus said quietly. He held up a small glass tube filled with my dark red blood. "I have your sample."
