Violet’s (Selena’s) POV
My heart completely stopped beating.
I was entirely frozen in place as the man Theo stared at my daughter. I could see a strange, invisible pull between them. It was like magic. It was a connection that didn't need words or memories.
Lilian was usually very shy around strangers. But right now, she was not scared at all. She tilted her head, looking at the intimidating man with absolute curiosity.
"Hello," Lilian whispered, her sweet, tiny voice breaking the heavy silence in the hallway.
Theo’s eyes filled with tears. He reached out a shaking hand, as if he wanted to touch her soft cheek, but he stopped himself. He just smiled. It was a broken, beautiful smile.
