She looks down at the floor, her lashes lowering, shoulders rising and falling once in a slow breath. A few seconds drag by before she finally lifts her eyes to mine. “I don’t want your apology,” she says quietly, her eyes fixed on mine. “And when you did whatever you did, I’m sure you didn’t think it was a big deal.
