Lynn's POV
Richardson calls me into his office Friday afternoon, his expression pleased.
"Lynn, excellent work on the merger phase. The clients are thrilled with your analysis."
"Thank you." I settle into the chair across from his desk.
"I'm giving you a few days off. You've earned it." He studies me over his reading glasses. "And you mentioned your wedding is coming up soon. Use this time to prepare."
My stomach twists. The fake wedding to Charles—my grand revenge scheme that's two weeks away.
"Thank you. I will."
I leave his office feeling lighter than I have in weeks. The merger work is progressing smoothly, the office hostility has evaporated, and I have a few days to breathe.
