The air around me began to crackle, and I felt that familiar tingling beneath my skin as Itaca pushed her power forward. Tiny golden sparks jumped between my fingers, growing brighter with every passing second.
Varek noticed them too.
"What the f**k are you doing?"
I smiled at him.
"Something your son didn't enjoy very much."
Before he could answer, I sent a bolt of electricity straight into the arm he had wrapped around Stephanie's neck.
The bastard screamed and released her immediately. Liam was already moving, catching her before she hit the steps and carrying her away from Varek's reach.
I heard her little boy crying somewhere behind me, and through our bond, Liam assured me they were both safe.
Good. Because I'd had about enough of this f*****g family.
