A beat of silence.
‘Rude,’ my sister half-screamed in my mind.
I almost smiled.
‘I just wanted to know if you were awake,’ she said.
‘And I answered. Efficiently.’

She huffed in my head, and the sound hit something sore and soft in me.

Clean, probably. Warm, hopefully. With Liam, definitely.
That last part helped.
