I’m yours.
Two words.
That was all.
Two stupid, impossible words, and every part of me went up in flames.
The rain kept falling, hard enough to make the lake hiss behind us, hard enough to soak through what little fabric still clung to my body, hard enough that the whole forest smelled like wet bark and storm and earth split open.
But I barely felt the cold anymore.
My skin burned.
Everywhere Liam had touched me, I burned. My breasts, my stomach, the inside of my thighs, the place between my legs where his fingers had been moving slowly enough to make me want to bite him and mark his neck. Tiny sparks danced under my skin, alive. Something that made Itaca lift her head inside me and watch him like prey, like mate, like mine.
