The world around me went silent.
Completely silent. faded away.
Even the distant howls seemed to fall away for one perfect second.
I could only hear the sound of my own blood pumping in my veins while rage built up, entangled itself with fury and burned any mercy I could ever have for this scumbag.
My fangs popped down. Instantly, without me even tyring.
Richard realized the mistake then.
I watched it happen. Watched the words catch up with his survival instinct. Watched his eyes widen, his mouth go slack, his hands lift a little higher.

I grabbed him by the throat and stood.

Easy.
His feet left the ground.
He clawed at my wrist, choking, eyes bulging as I held him there and stepped close enough that his knees brushed my stomach.
