LAYLA’S POV It still feels a little unreal that Edward and I are actually doing this. Every time a text from him comes in, it's like getting reminded all over again that this isn't something I imagined. Yes, he likes me. Yes, he wants to spend time with me. Yes, he’s currently trying to plan dates and somehow remembers every random thing I mention liking. He keeps reassuring me he won’t be what Colt was and somehow all of it keeps catching me off guard even though he’s said it more than once now. Maybe I’ll get used to it eventually. Maybe one day his texts will stop making me feel like I swallowed something warm. Today is not that day.
