She flips a page dramatically. “As I was saying, we’ve spent the last several hours trying to establish a way to link Colt directly to the letter and prove he orchestrated the incident.”
Her tone shifts into full lecture mode.
“Unfortunately, it was premeditated, and he was careful enough not to use his real handwriting, which eliminates handwriting comparison as evidence.”
She flips another page. “Additionally, because of his family’s status, we cannot legally search his lodge for traces of Gloamroot.”
Another collective sigh moves through the room.
Wendy points accusingly at Rio without looking up. “Several contributions were made.”
