LAYLA’S POV Amber's knees give out and she almost hits the floor. The guards catch her before she can. “No.” She cries. “No, that's not true.” “Remove her.” Laurent orders. “I didn't do anything!” She fights against the guards. “You can't do this!” The guards begin dragging her toward the exit and she’s still screaming, still twisting. As I watch her go, I find myself asking the same question in my mind since the guards first grabbed her. Why won’t she tell them? She should just say it. Say Colt wrote the letter too. Say he was there and he knew exactly what was in it and delivered it anyway. She has nothing left to protect and he’s sitting ten feet away watching her get dragged out of this room and he hasn’t blinked. But she doesn’t. The door closes behind her and her voice cuts
