Her eyes meet mine, shy even now, and after a heartbeat she nods.
The relief and hunger that crashes through me are almost violent but it’s fleeting as she slams her lips against mine, tasting herself on her tongue. My hand slides up her body and coils around her throat, fingers wrapping around her neck with just enough pressure to hold her in place beneath me.
