We ditched Magda’s dirt bike a mile away from the coordinates. ​The engine was too loud. From here on out, we were ghosts. ​We hiked up a rocky ridge, keeping low to the ground. As we reached the top, the view took my breath away—and not in a good way. ​The Facility. ​It wasn't just a building. It was a fortress. ​A massive concrete complex sat in the middle of the desert valley, surrounded by three layers of twenty-foot high fences topped with razor wire.
