"No, Roger is very intelligent. He has already skipped two classes and is my senior, but he never had a mother until now."
The revelation seemed to upset Roger. "Leave me alone," he yelled. Molly comforted him, saying, "Don't use that language, and you don't have to be upset. I'm here for you."
It appeared to me that the boy wasn't actually hers as she claimed. When Roger glared at Wade, I feared he might harm him. However, he recognized another child, who was much older, and the two were playing hide and seek.
