I was still reeling from witnessing Gianni's actions earlier. Initially, I was afraid he might end up in jail, but the way the cops looked at him made me wonder why people were so afraid of him.
Then there was Wesley, using my money to hire spies. I felt like the few months Gianni stated to get back my assets was too long.
As he picked up the intercom, his expression changed, and I wondered what his secretary had told him.
"Tell her to wait there," he instructed, indicating it was a woman. There was always a mysterious air about him when it came to women, including his wife, that he never shared with me.
Dropping the intercom, he locked eyes with me. "My bodyguard, Jace, will accompany you to Roger's school and stay with you until I return."
