I scoffed as I ran a hand through my hair.
"Ya know what, you're right Cara. It is my fault. I let you sink your claws into me. I let you make me think that what we had was love. I was just being dumb. You were the only thing in my life that I ever had to chase after. You weren't hard to get, but you were hard to hold onto," I told her. "But I'm done. I've been done. This was the last fu.cking straw. I'm taking care of this. Today."
I turned for the door, not caring if I had to walk home naked. Wherever home is. All I know is I want to get out of this place now and find Uncle Mal immediately.
"I wouldn't leave just yet if I were you, Kier," Cara called out as soon as my hand was on the doorknob. "After all, you've been getting into a lot of trouble over the last two days."
