"Why am I in the hospital?" he asked, looking back up at her with a weak smirk. "You put me here because I was annoying you too much? You've always been so feisty, but don't worry, my darling, I'm okay."
That only made Mom sob harder. Ty and I watched, wordlessly, as our dad started doing everything he could to shift around and pull our mom to him. It was during his little tantrum that he finally noticed us.
It felt like the whole world stopped. I held my breath as our father's eyes dragged over us in confusion. I didn't breathe as I watched the realization start to take over in his eyes. After all, he and Ty have the same nose, jaw and chin, and me... I look like a perfect image of him, but with more feminity.
