"You told us they died in an accident, was that true?" Ty asked.
Mom shook her head as tears filled her eyes.
"Well, my father, yes, but my mother died from cancer a few years before that," she told us. "After that, I went with my dad everywhere pretty much. I overheard things here and there, but never saw much. The older I got, the easier it was to piece things together. Plus, my aunt who raised me told me a little bit before she died."
"Did she really die from a tumor?" I asked.
Mom nodded.
"Yeah," she said softly. "And my father did die in an accident. It was a terrible car accident, and from what I heard, it actually had nothing to do with his business. It was simply an unlucky accident."
