I whipped my head towards Pierce.
"Shhh!" I hissed out.
Pierce chuckled and wrapped his arms around my middle.
"I wish I could take it all away for you, but I know that's not possible," he told me softly. "Just know that, no matter how tonight goes, neither of us are giving you up. Kieran's family is going to love you, because it's impossible not to. Don't worry so much about it."
"Pierce... I've already taken you away from your family... With good reason, but I don't want to do that to Kieran. I know he would choose me over them, but I don't want him to have to make that choice," I said.
"You won't, Otter," Pierce replied, kissing my nose. "Trust me. If they loved me as a bratty pre-teen, they will definitely love you. Just like Derek and Audrey. Deep breaths and confidence, okay?"
