I rolled my eyes as I put my backpack on the hook I was assigned yesterday.
"I only missed the first half of the day. I had a dentist appointment and then Mom took me out for lunch," I told him. "And Trina would have done that if I was here or not."
"Yeah, but it's easier if my friends are around," Holden grumbled. "Rach and Gianna aren't in our class this year."
Yeah, it's weird to not be around them all day long. It's been the four of us pretty much since birth. All through pre-school, kindergarten, and first grade, the four of us were together. This is our first year being separated and it feels weird. We still see them at recess at least.
"Sorry, okay? How about I get my mom to buy us ice cream after school?" I asked with a huge grin.
