Those kids always blamed themselves for it in some way or another. Some couldn't handle it and would commit suicide. It was a bad situation. The moment Uncle Mal got wind of it, he went after them. Didn't help that the fu.cker tried to steal one of our shipments.
Much like with the majority of those kids that we rescued, Pierce still can't see that it wasn't his fault. He was manipulated into it. They even forced him to play that terrible prank on Otti afterward. As if killing her father wasn't enough. It was cruel and unnecessary.
Still, I know that Pierce won't listen to me. He needed to tell Otti. I know she'll feel the same way I do. As soon as she tells him it wasn't his fault, he'll listen. I just need to make that happen without scaring Pierce off.
