When Zane left, I broke down.
I couldn't believe what a horrible mistake I had made, and the look on Zane's face, as I hurled those hateful words at him. They were etched into my memory, and it felt like a knife was being twisted in my gut.
I felt horrible.

It was a slip of tongue.
A careless comment that was spoken out of frustration. How could I be so careless?
