The world stilled, and the silence was deafening.
Everyone in the vicinity held their breath, waiting to see what would happen next. There were collective gasps from the crowd as they realized what had happened, and waited for the Alpha's reaction.
For a few seconds, there was complete silence, and then all hell broke loose. Growls erupted from the crowd, and the guards started shifting into their wolf form.
Zane's face was unreadable, and his eyes were void of any emotion. "Shift!" He commanded the wolves who were now snarling, waiting for an order to tear my throat out.
The wolves reluctantly shifted back into their human forms, and waited for their Alpha's orders.
"Leave. Now!" He commanded.
