“Everyone, out on the field!” Coach Taylor suddenly shouted. “Now!” Cassie linked her arm through mine and followed me out onto the field.
“Don't be mad at me, Ashley.”
“I'm not mad. I just can't believe Lisa and Chad have something going on...”
“Rachel saw them coming out of a room.”
“And how do you know she's not lying?”
“She has no reason to lie. She's... well, now that you mention it, she's been spending a lot of time with Maddie lately. Do you think they planned this to take everyone's attention away from the Maddie, Josh, and Glenda drama?”
“Oh my God, Cassie...”
“What?”
“I just remembered Rachel wasn't even in town during Friday's game. She got permission to miss school.” Cassie’s mouth fell open in a huge O. “She couldn't have been at the party that night.”
