CHAPTER 17
Lyra's POV
A jolt of electricity ran up my arm as I dragged Malrik, well my body, out of the place. I didn't mind whatever that was, that moment. All I wanted was to get my body out of there.
I still had a lot to do. My body needed to be safe in order to find Kael.
Once we were alone in the corridor, Malrik ripped his hand away abruptly and I turned to face him.
"What the hell was that?" He asked.
"You were in trouble," I glared.
"I didn't need your help!" He yelled.
"Really?" My eyebrows shot up. "Because it looked like Selene was about to eat you alive." I muttered, recalling the sharp pain I had felt in my chest before hurrying to meet him.
Malrik's face flushed. "I can handle your mate."
"She's not my mate," I corrected. "She's YOURS." I glared.
"Not anymore," Malrik snapped, glaring back at me. "Why did you come?"
My eyes narrowed into squint before turning from him, I hesitated telling him. "I... felt it." I muttered. "Through the bond. Your distress." I added.
"So what?" He scoffed. "You came running to save me?" He demanded, narrowing his eyes.
"Don't flatter yourself, Wolf King," I scoffed. "I just didn't want to be stuck in your body if Selene killed you," I added.
"Liar," Malrik stepped closer. "You were worried about me." He said, covering the distance between us.
"I was not-"
"Admit it." He interrupted, his face a few inches away from mine.
"Never," I muttered. His chest in my body was close to mine now and my body warmed staring at him.
"You infuriating, stubborn witch-"
"Arrogant, controlling bastard-" Malrik's mouth in my body crashed on mine interrupting me. His kiss was rough at first but I kissed him back.
His hand in my body travelled to my neck, I felt the world spinned as I felt my aching breasts pressed against Malrik's chest. Before I could process the switch, Malrik lifted me, slamming me against the wall.
Malrik's hands travelled to my back as he grabbed my ass, lifting me up and I wrapped my legs around his hips. His hand slid up my thigh and I gasped into his mouth.
Malrik growled and the vibrations traveled through my body as my hand roamed the back of his neck.
"Did you carry the other wine?" I heard voices approaching and we both sprung apart.
"Goddess,” I exclaimed, back in Malrik's body. We both stood staring at each other across the corridor, breathing hard.
"This has to stop," I said, looking away.
"I know," Malrik agreed but we both stood, staring. Neither of us was ready to move.
After a moment of staring, I finally returned to the meeting room in Malrik's body to attend to other duties. I returned to Marlik's suite later in the evening expecting to see Malrik pacing around the room as usual but he wasn't present.
Where was he?
I stepped out of the room in search of him. I searched the entire palace for him but he was nowhere to be found.
I stood for a moment, trying to figure out where he could be or where I had not searched. The thought of checking him in the library suddenly crossed my mind and he was indeed there, surrounded by ancient texts.
"What are you doing?" I asked, stepping properly into the library.
"Finding a way to break this curse," Malrik answered, not looking up.
"Have you found anything?" I asked, curiously.
"Maybe." He held up a weathered book. "There's a witch in Shadowpine territory. She specializes in curses and dark magic." He said.
My heart lifted. "Can she help us?"
"Possibly," Malrik paused. "But she's three days' ride from here."
"What are you waiting for?" I asked. "You should go." I said.
Malrik finally looked at me. "I can't just leave the kingdom." He raised his brow.
"Why not? You leave all the time for hunts and territorial disputes." I said.
"That's different. Those are official matters." He muttered.
"This is an official matter too," I argued. "Your Wolf King is trapped in a woman's body. That seems pretty f*****g official to me," I added.
I watched Malrik run his hand through his hair, more like my hair. "If I leave, I'll be stuck in your body the entire journey." He replied.
"So?" I asked.
"So I'll be vulnerable. Weak." He replied.
"My body isn't weak—"
"It can't fight off bandits or wolves!" He yelled.
"Then take guards."
"And explain why 'Lyra' is leaving the palace for days?" Malrik scoffed. "That'll raise too many questions." He explained.
I understood what he meant, indeed. It was impossible for him to leave the palace in my body with the guards. I took a seat beside him, trying to figure out what we could do.
The room was tense and silent until I spoke. "What if we switch right before you leave?" I asked.
"We can't control the switches." He replied, calmly.
"But we know what triggers them. Intense emotion," I replied and Malrik faced me. "Kissing," I whispered.
Malrik's eyes darkened. "What are you suggesting?"
"I'm suggesting," I said, moving closer. "That we test it. See if we can deliberately trigger the switch at dawn."
"And if it works?" He questioned.
"You go to Shadowpine in your own body. I stay here in mine and manage the palace." I explained.
"You mean destroy more of my kingdom." He glared.
"I'm trying to save both our lives," I said with a tightened jaw.
"By tearing apart the council?"
"The council is trying to kill us!" I yelled. "Or have you forgotten the poisoned blade?" I questioned.
Malrik stood. "I haven't forgotten anything." He said. "Including the fact that all of this chaos started when you fell into my trial." He added.
"I didn't ask to be here!" I spat.
"And I didn't ask for you to ruin everything I've built!" He yelled back.
"I hate you," I hissed, a few inches away from him.
"The feeling is mutual, witch," Malrik growled, staring at my lips. He covered the distance between us in a twinkle of an eye, claiming my lips.
We were kissing again.
The kiss was hotter and deeper than we had ever had. Malrik in my body kissed my lips violently like he had been starved for days. His touch on me was intoxicating and I desperately wanted more.
I claimed his lips in my body, sucking on them hungrily. My hands trailed through his back in my body, pulling him closer to myself. He pulled closer, kissing roughly and calming every inch of my lips.
But that wasn't enough, I longed for more.
I leaned even closer, lifting him up in my body from the chair. The world spinned and I felt the switch when he grinded his c**k against my supple belly. He grasped my ass, pulling me closer to him, roughly.
I wrapped my leg around his hips, nestling him in the secret corner of my thighs. He pulled me up, pinning me against one of the shelves.
He disengaged from the kiss sharply and the switch happened again. I could feel my jutting member slapped against Malrik's stomach in my body. We both stared at each other, trying to catch our breath.
That didn't last long as I craved more to have him.
I could feel the longing desire in Malrik's face in my body. I waited no more as I dragged him back crashing my lips against his. The world spinned again and I gasped for breath.
Malrik slid his tongue in my mouth, devouring me like he hadn't had a taste since forever. His hands travelled to my thigh a warm trail alongside hot thick arousal ran in my veins. My hand ran through his hair while his chest teases my itching n****e.
I couldn't stop. Neither did he. We both longed for each other. I tried pulling away again but our lips connected again as we sucked on each other hungrily and each time, switching bodies.
"We're going to drive each other insane," Malrik pants in his own body.
"Too late," I gasped, now in my own body as well. I deepened the kiss as Malrik pulled me away from the shelf. We both laid on the library floor, scattering books everywhere still claiming each other desperately.
My hands were all over Malrik. Goddess he was huge. He felt so good, so hard and make and
"Ohhh, Mal!" I groaned, throwing my head back while his hand found it way under my dress. My c**t quivered desperately, waiting for his touch. I felt his c**k pressed against me, so hard, so solid.
"Goddess you feel divine," He groaned as my nails were digging into his back and his fingers brushed me right where I wanted.
A loud crash had us springing apart.
A shelf collapsed nearby.
Malrik and I sprung apart immediately, switching one more time. We sat in opposite sides of the room, breathing hard.
"Dawn," Malrik finally said. "We'll try to switch at dawn. I'll go to Shadowpine."
"And I'll stay here," I replied.
"Don't destroy my kingdom while I'm gone." He warned.
"Don't die on the road," I replied, meeting his eyes.
