Her voice was soft, almost distant. I could tell that the topic of our father was a painful one for her and I hated pushing those buttons, but I really needed to know more about the man who had given me life. "I'm sorry if this is uncomfortable to talk about," I said after a few seconds of silence. "No, it's okay," she sighed. "It's painful to think about him, but I at least have those memories.
