Sophia’s pov
The station stayed too quiet after midnight and the hallway lights kept buzzing over my head while I finished the last charts nobody else wanted to touch.
Most of the floor had gone home hours ago because this private hospital emptied out fast and I was the only one still sitting there in my scrubs when the front doors pushed open hard.
A man came in dragging two others behind him.
They looked drunk at first glance, stumbling and heads hanging, but the way their bodies kept twitching and rolling was wrong, like something inside them would not let them stand still or keep their hands off themselves.
