Alex When Joy and I crept back to the tent that night, we found my Dad and Kristen already curled up on the bed together. Joy wanted to go back early to check on them but I convinced her it would be better if they had time together without any kids around. “Adults are shy,” I told her knowingly, “they don’t like to kiss when kids are watching.” I don’t know if Kristen and Daddy had kissed, but they were cuddled up together like puppies on the air mattress. Kristen was using Daddy’s arm as a pillow, he had his other hand in her hair, and her leg was thrown over his like she was holding him captive. I thought they were both asleep, but Daddy heard us come in, lifted his head, and shushed us. She’s finally asleep, he told me through the mind link. Don’t wake her up. So Joy and I tiptoe
