Elara shook her head quickly, her eyes wide with fear. "You should ask him when you go back home. It is not my place to say anything more."
I stared at her in disbelief. "Not your place? You just told me that my brother paid you to destroy my marriage and now you are holding back?"
"I think I have already said too much," she whispered. "Ethan made me promise. Some things are too dangerous. You need to hear them from him directly."
My hands tightened into fists. "Fine. But there is more you need to tell me. About what you did here. About… Victor."
Elara nodded slowly, wiping tears from her face. "Yes. There is more."
