Selene's POV
The guard flinched at my tone but finally sucked in a deep breath. "The food shipment," he gasped out. "From the Blood River Pack. We found something hidden inside."
My blood turned to ice. "What did you find?"
"Drugs, Lady Selene," he stammered. "Illegal drugs. Packed inside the grain sacks and meat crates. Enough to poison the entire pack."
"What?" I whispered in shock.
"It is not like normal poison," he continued quickly. "It is similar to narcotics. Highly addictive. The tests we ran showed it makes werewolves lose control. They can't shift properly, can't think clearly, and worse, it prevents children from awakening their wolf spirits."
I felt like the ground had disappeared under my feet. "How much did they try to bring in?"
"Enough for months of distribution," h
