Selene's POV
The last rope dropped, and the hostages scrambled to their feet. They were shaking and terrified, but alive.
"The window," I said quietly, gesturing with my head towards the back of the room. "Go through the window. One at a time. Quickly."
They didn't argue. The first one, a young woman with blood crusted on her temple, moved towards the storage room I had come through. The others followed, moving quickly and quietly.
I kept my claws pressed against the Beta's throat, feeling his pulse racing beneath my fingertips. His men watched me like wolves circling prey, their hands still on their weapons.
"Don't even think about it," I warned them. "Your Beta dies if anyone moves."
They stayed frozen, their eyes burning with hatred.
