Victor's POV As I ran, another thought struck me. I skidded to a stop and turned back. "Abel!" I barked. "Contact the border checkpoint now and tell them I'm on my way." He pulled out his phone immediately, his fingers moving fast across the screen. I watched his face, waiting for confirmation. But then his expression darkened. "What?" I demanded. "No one is picking up. I have tried the main line, the emergency line, and even Marcus's personal phone. Nothing." My blood turned to ice. "Keep trying. And get those warriors moving."
