Victor's POV
She walked away.
Just like that.
Her back was straight. Her steps fast. Her heels hitting the floor like thunder against my chest.
I wanted to run after her. I wanted to grab her, beg her to stop, and explain everything. But for some weird reason, my damn legs refused to move and I just stood frozen, staring at the place where her scent still lingered in the air.
Kael was clawing inside me, howling with rage.
“You pushed her away again, Victor. You lost her. Again.”
“I didn’t mean for it to happen this way,” I muttered under my breath.
The plan was simple. Use Mirella to get Selene’s attention. Make her jealous. Make her feel something. That was all.
But I had gone too far.
