“Caz, I…” Elara's voice broke. Like the words suddenly got stuck in her throat.
Dimitri started struggling against my grip, his body tense with anger. His fist drew back, and for a moment I thought he would hit Caz again.
But to my surprise, Elara rushed forward, her hands flying out. “No!” she cried, stepping in front of Caz.
“What?” I slowly loosened my grip on Dimitri's wrist as my mind stumbled over what I was seeing.
