I knew it wasn’t Valen waiting for me in my room when I saw him smiling.
He sat on the edge of my bed, elbows on his knees and his hands clasped. As soon as I entered and stopped in the doorway, he looked up at me with a cheeky grin. The tiny dimples on his face made my stomach drop.
“You look like you’ve had an exciting day,” he said lightly. His eyes sparked.
“What are you doing here Blaze?” I asked. I held my ground, not moving any closer. I fought the blush creeping up my neck as I thought about how sweaty I must be.
He pushed himself up, grin dropping into a mischievous grin as he looked me up and down with hooded eyes. He took a few steps towards me, but he didn’t reach out to touch me.
