I turn the corner and she seems to realize that we’re driving in the wrong direction. “Are we going somewhere?”
I’m busy trying to determine if the red sedan behind us is tailing us or just happens to be traveling in the same direction. “Yes, we are.”
“Dinner at a fancy restaurant?”
“Dinner, yes. Restaurant, no. But we’ll have an amazing view.”
“Am I supposed to guess?”
I drive straight at the intersection and watch as the red sedan takes a left. My grip on the steering wheel eases slightly. We’re fine. Everything is going to be fine.
“Too late for guesses. We’re here.” I drive up to the endless, black-glassed skyscraper that houses Konstantin’s den of sin.
Paige looks out the window in confusion. She turns to me with a raised eyebrow. “You are full of surprises, Misha Orlov.”
