Despite the privacy glass, I instinctively pulled away from Caesar's hold, returning to my seat. Meeting his displeased gaze, I explained primly, "We're at work now."
Caesar didn't respond, simply exiting the vehicle with his usual cold, aristocratic grace. All trace of the passionate man from moments before had vanished.
Amber began speaking, then noticed me through the still-open door. "Viya, heading to Research and Development?"
I nodded. "Yes, that's right."
She smiled before turning back to Caesar. "Alpha Blackwood, where were you this morning? The shareholders' meeting had to be rescheduled..."
