I didn’t like this.
Not one damn bit.
Amber was standing a few feet away from me, back straight, shoulders squared, her eyes locked on Rose like a predator waiting for the kill. She looked fierce, untouchable, every inch the Luna she was meant to be. And that should have reassured me. It should have made me proud.
Instead, all I felt was rage simmering beneath my skin.
Not at her. Never at her.
At the f*****g situation.
At the fact that she had to stand here at all, issuing a challenge to a wolf who didn’t deserve to breathe the same air as her.
