Ava's POV
Tuesday morning, Maggie cornered me before I'd even finished my coffee.
“We have a problem.”
I stopped halfway to my desk.
“How bad?”
“Seven-year-old. Exam room three.”
“That tells me nothing.”
“He's refusing to take off his Spider-Man mask.”
I stared at her.
“That's the problem?”
“He also refuses to answer to anything except Peter Parker.”
“Still not seeing a problem.”
Danielle came around the corner carrying a tablet.
“He told Maggie she's Aunt May.”
I lost it.
Maggie pointed at both of us.
“Laugh all you want. He called Dr. Patel J. Jonah Jameson.”
“Okay, now I need to meet this kid.”
“You're encouraging him.”
“Absolutely.”
I walked into exam room three.
A little boy sat on the table in a full Spider-Man mask, arms crossed.
His mother looked exhausted.
