Dawn's POV Tuesday Evening — 6:15 p.m. After Chelsea left, I decided to make one of our household favorites for dinner. Macaroni and cheese with hot dogs on the side. Nothing fancy. Nothing requiring a culinary degree. And, most importantly, something Ana would actually eat without looking at me like I'd personally betrayed her. Strangely enough, macaroni and cheese was the only food allowed to be saucy in my daughter's world. Spaghetti sauce? Absolutely not. Gravy? Offensive. Ketchup? Apparently invented by the devil himself. But macaroni and cheese? Perfectly acceptable. Don't ask me why. I'd stopped questioning the mysterious food laws governing Ana's universe a long time ago. Her hot dogs, however, were an entirely different situation. Plain. No ketchup. No mustard
