It felt like time was dragging on forever as Braxton and Colt took their time returning with Eva and Gaia. I just hoped those girls were okay.
Aiden had decided to let his parents out of the dungeon temporarily, as he put it. I could tell he was conflicted about what to do with them.
The front doors swung open, and Braxton walked in carrying Eva.
“Oh my goddess, is she hurt?” Mrs. Gold exclaimed, rushing to her daughter.
“Just a skinned knee; she’s fine,” Braxton said as he set her down.
Mrs. Gold examined her daughter and pulled her into a huge hug. “Let’s take a look at that knee,” she said to Eva.
She took Eva’s hand and led her up the stairs, leaving just Braxton behind.
