Mia’s POV The smoke burned my lungs as Elias’s men dragged me toward the shattered doorway. Damien’s roar echoed behind me — raw, primal, filled with rage and desperation. “Mia!” I twisted in their grip, heart tearing in two. Damien was on his feet again, bloodied and furious, fighting like a man who had nothing left to lose. He took down another guard with a brutal headbutt, then charged toward me. For one chaotic second, our eyes met across the room. The intensity there — the dark obsession, the fear for me and our child — made my chest ache.
