Helen makes a sound like she's been slapped.
"That's—that's insane. Child support doesn't work like that. You can't just claim an entire company—"
"She can if the prenup says she can." I look up at Helen. Let her see the exhaustion on my face. The defeat. "And it does. In the case of infidelity on my part, she gets everything. That was the agreement I signed."
"But you didn't commit infidelity!"
"She thinks I did." I lean back. "She walked in and saw us together. Saw me holding you. And she's using that as proof that I was unfaithful. That I chose you over her."
