My face flushed. I wasn’t embarrassed because I was proud to be married to a good man. I was just caught off guard.
The floor went utterly silent. All I could hear was my own breathing.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I muttered under my breath as I looked at the Asian-American man with black-rimmed glasses, standing at what was supposed to be the executive assistant's office door.
“That’s the new EA. I like him,” Piper whispered to me. “I feel like we can be best friends in less than a week.”
“I’m gonna strangle him. Wait here.” I ignored Bruna’s remarks as I watched him walk in my direction.
“Nice to meet you, Mrs. Kolby.” He was a few years older than me, but he looked friendly, and his smile was contagious. “I’m Jed Tan. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
