BEST FRIEND CHAPTER 1 ARIANNA The line at the concession stand was short for once, just a tired-looking cashier and the smell of fake butter hanging thick in the air. Mark stood right behind me, close enough that I could feel the warmth off his chest against my back. He reached around me to grab the giant popcorn bucket before I could, like always, and I swatted at his arm. “Stop hogging it,” I said, laughing. He grinned down at me, that stupid crooked smile that always made my stomach flip even though I pretended it didn’t. “You always take the good kernels anyway. This is justice.” The cashier handed us the bucket and two sodas. Mark balanced everything like he was born for it, then flicked my forehead with his free finger the same way he’d done every time we’d come to one of these
