My blood turned to ice in my veins. I tried to drive forward, but there were too many of them to get through. The car slowed to a stop and I scrambled to locate the lock button in the unfamiliar car. I jammed my finger onto it, pointlessly. It’s not like a lock would keep that many of them out. Something shattered. At first I thought wildly that I’d been rear ended. Or maybe even that my sanity had finally shattered. But it was the windshield cracking under their weight. There were so many of them, all in their wolf forms, all huge.
