Sage The first hints of dawn crept through the curtains, turning the moonlight’s silver into a softer gray. My eyes opened slowly, body heavy but healed, the ache from last night a satisfying reminder rather than pain. Eve was curled against me, face tucked into my chest, one leg thrown over mine, breathing deep and even in sleep. Her hair spilled wild across the pillow and my arm, lips slightly parted, skin still flushed from everything we’d done. She looked peaceful. Utterly spent. And so f*****g beautiful it hurt.
