He moved slowly—dangerously slowly—as his head turned toward the door, eyes glowing with a heat that no one in that palace was ever meant to interrupt. “What!” he roared, voice thundering through the chamber like a beast ripped from a nightmare. “What do you have for me that was worth barging into this room uncalled?
